Types of disorders:
Anorexia - obsessed with weight loss, typically through restriction of diet and over exercising (may have bulimic tendencies)
Bulimia - obsessed with weight loss, typically through purging (self-induced vomiting, laxative abuse, abuse of diuretics, etc.) many times after a binge (eating an extremely excessive amount of food)
Binge Eating Disorder - sometimes referred to as emotional eating; uses food as a coping skill for not dealing with feelings, many times binging
Orthorexia - obsessed so much on eating "perfectly," many times to avoid gaining weight; behaviors can include calorie counting (to consume only the daily recommendation), exact and measured portion sizes, and exercising exactly as much as recommended or "required"
Anorexia Athletica - anorexia based on the use of athletics, may do extra practices or work out more in order to burn calories; typically diagnosed for professional athletes
Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified (EDNOS) - eating disorder that does not fit the exact criteria from the DSM V to diagnose with any other eating disorder; however symptoms show an extreme fear of gaining weight, use of food as control (mostly over emotions), and any other behaviors displaying disordered eating
